We are in mourning...

Portugal in particular Madeira Island was under heavy rain along the weekend, resulting in powerful and terrible floods.
Death and destruction is everywhere...

Hard times waiting for the Madeira Island people....

HP... grows big as 25%

That is good news... ?

HP 25% more - CNET News

I guess, today thousands of share holders were just applauding Mr Hurd... saying how brilliant he is, how great and enormous business man... capable of making their money rise like wild flowers in the fields....

But we, we know the truth, we know how hard was and still is to make this possible, how many people suffer and are affected by this simple two digit number...
And for what?

Watching this announcement, for me, did not triggered any moment of joy or proud... just brought my mind the people who was sacrificed already to achieve this numbers.... the sadness behind the measure... decisions and effects in the real people...

This can't be the right way

Banana's Portuguese Republic

Have you ever heard names like: Mário Crespo, TVI, Manuela Moura Guedes, Jornal Sol, and Eduardo Moniz…?

I suppose not since they are Portuguese characters from the Media arena. So why are they so important that deserves some time from me?

Well, because I think they are a very good example of what is going on here at the moment… this country sitting in the far end of Europe… or maybe in the top of Africa… is busy at the moment, not with the poor’s, not with the unemployed, not with the average people that is paying the crisis and becoming new poor’s, not with the country economical situation that is almost like Greece…. No.

Portuguese politicians, the ones in charge and the others in the biggest parties, are all concerned because the media was able to show in public what they are doing, what they planed and how they really care about the people… or, better, what they don’t care!
And the main point is: somehow, Prime Minister was caught in some phone conversations under several investigations… and guess what, those tapes were archived by order of the General Public Promoter…

Now they were unveiled by some journalist and guess what… those names I mentioned before were already part of the government plan to eliminate and step back some inconvenient journalist… which were delaying or pointing their main goals… control Media ( I guess, to avoid being exposed from their not so democratic undercover actions) J

Do you think Fidel is a bad guy? Or even Hugo Chavez?
At least they show what they are…

Here is have something more polite… we have Democratic Dictators…, who stole, manipulate, take ownership of all important jobs in key areas and rule the country at their will
In the past they called this democratic way as “Banana’s Republic”, but now is more than that…

Watching news is so damn frustrating….

One minute the high representative of Portuguese Bank says the economy is walking to a dark future where foreign debt is reaching danger values and Portugal should take measures to avoid collapsing.

This is supported by the so called “spring economical report” and is also in the last official speech of Republic President…

The next minute, finance minister says live in TV to all country that “well, this proves we are doing well and is not bad as we thought”….

Damn… what is this about?

Lying? Ignorance? Throwing sand to people’s eyes? Being just dumb?

We can feel and see how bad is our economy going… we can see our friends losing their jobs, others flying out hopping to find an opportunity overseas…
But seems this reality is not reaching politicians in the same way. They continue to rule with their fancy expensive cars, all costs covered and a lot of other goodies that we pay… and we pay without being asked if we want to pay.

If was not a real concern living here, it would be a funny script for the English soap opera “Yes, Prime minister”

Today, our government is spending a full day on Parliament discussing Single Sex Marriage (SSM).

I have no objection at all that gays can get married. But I do disagree that our 230 parliament members, are wasting thousands of euros discussing this for the last 4 weeks, when in the same exact day, more 500 persons turned unemployed.

Exactly when Portugal is struggling for money, jobs, health, justice and much more... politicians are just busy discussing if two persons with the same sex should or should not get married.... damn!

Why politicians tend to get distracted or ignore the real problems and discuss fancy problems?

Thousands are living daily nightmares with no money, no food, no job... no solution for their lives... and our very expensive and corrupt government is spending our money, our time, our patient discussing SSM.

... yep, its the real picture here in the north of Africa.
